What's available depends on where you are

Business broadband on the Isle of Wight varies a lot from one street to the next. Some premises have full fibre from more than one network, some are on fibre to the cabinet, and some rural sites need a wireless option.

FAQs

Business broadband: your questions

Who is the best internet provider on the Isle of Wight?

It depends on your address. Different networks reach different streets, and the best choice for a business in Newport may not be available in a village down the road. We're not tied to one provider, so we check what reaches your premises and recommend the best fit for how you work.

What's the difference between business and home broadband?

Business broadband usually comes with faster fault handling, options like a static IP address, and terms written for businesses. Just as important on the Island is having someone local to call when it drops.

How fast does my business broadband need to be?

It depends on how many people use it at once and what for. Upload speed matters for video calls, cloud backups and VoIP. We'll size it to how you actually work, not the biggest number on offer.

What if full fibre doesn't reach us?

There are often other options, including fibre to the cabinet and fixed wireless in rural areas. We'll check what's actually available at your address.

Do I still need a phone line with my broadband?

Not for much longer. From 31 January 2027 calls move over broadband, so the internet connection becomes your phone line too. See the switch-off and VoIP.

Can I have a backup in case the broadband goes down?

Yes. A 4G/5G backup can take over automatically, so card machines, phones and email keep working.
