SIP Trunks · Isle of Wight
SIP trunks carry your calls over the internet instead of ISDN or analogue lines, so your existing phone system keeps working after the 31 January 2027 switch-off. Set up and supported by Island engineers.

What is a SIP trunk?
A SIP trunk replaces the ISDN or analogue lines that plug into your phone system. Instead of copper, your calls travel over your internet connection to the phone network.
For a business with a phone system that still does the job, SIP trunks are often the quickest and cheapest way to be ready for the 31 January 2027 switch-off, without replacing the system itself.
Why businesses switch
Local support
SIP trunks are sold widely online, but if call quality drops, a carrier helpline can't see your router, your network or your phone system. We set up the trunk, the system and the network together, so one person can look at the whole picture.
If you're thinking about replacing the system rather than keeping it, see business telephone systems and VoIP.
FAQs
VoIP is the general term for calls over the internet. A SIP trunk is one way of doing it: it connects a phone system you already own to the phone network over your internet connection, replacing ISDN or analogue lines.
Most modern systems connect directly, including Yeastar. Many older systems can be connected too, either directly or through a gateway. We'll check yours before you commit to anything.
One channel carries one call at a time, so you need enough for your busiest moment, not one per person. We'll look at your call patterns and size it to suit.
Yes. Your 01983 and other numbers are ported to the SIP trunk.
Sometimes. Each call needs a little steady upload bandwidth, and busy sites may need a dedicated line. We'll check your connection first.
Those need moving too before 31 January 2027. We check every copper line on site, not just the phones. See our switch-off guide.
